How to Pick up Chicks

Yes, those precious, fluffy yellow "HAPPY" sweet birds. Are they not the sweetest things that
you have seen in your life? That is how we felt when the birds first came to live at our house. Then we woke up to find them loud and hungry and eating all the time. Does anyone know how much these little things POOP. Let me tell you, ALOT ! Seriously everyone told me that we would lose half of these guys to death, starvation and whatever the lot that kills the sweet and inocent chicks. We did not. We lost 3... yes you heard me 3. Forty-seven chicks continued life on our new makeshift farm for a 4 h project that went wrong. I guess I can put this down as a learning experience, but that actually took place a little while later. ( Not for the squimish)
I know that you would like to know more, however, you will laugh so hard that you would probably need to seek medical attention.
I might tell you the rest, I might not, right now I am just plucked out !

Cowboy Mac n Cheese

MMMM Nothing is better than Real Mac n Cheese

First Figure out how many are going to eat be available for dinner, cauz they are going to have seconds for sure !

Melt Velveeta cheese (Whole brick for big helpings , No Substiutes ) and milk. Just kinda cover the chunks of cheese. Melt on Low heat (gas stoves are the best for this kinda cooking) until smooth and creamy.

Boil a box of macaroni Pasta and drain. Pour the pasta into the cheese mixture into the mix well. Then here is the Kick. Add two cans of rotel ! Hot spicy if you can handle it!

Pour into your favorite pan and add a handful or two of cheddar cheese and warm in the oven at 350 until hot and bubbly. (dig in ! )

Easter Egg hunt

What could be sweeter than hand dipped eggs made by sweet children to then be gently placed in green grass for the youngest to seek out with anticipation !
Ha That does not happen at my House !!!!
Yep, with boys easter egg hunting is like a practice mission at a army base with eggs being the hand granades. Yes it was and is a time in which I just try to get the boys to go through the motions for me and their grandmother. No pretty dresses, no easter baskets with pretty ribbon. Just Camo buckets ! But I did not count on my Lab to participate this year. After Josh and I hid the eggs ( yes I had to force him away from the tv) I ran to yell at my youngest to come and find the eggs. Only to look back and see my sweet girl Molly (my lab) eating the eggs ! Good grief I will never win at this !

Passover

Easter is such a wonderful time with the passing of the winter hum drums and the grass starting to go "green" it is truly a beautiful event no matter the weather outside. I had decided to have a passover meal for our family because I felt that we really needed to understand the meaning behind Christ's death and resurrection. Blake helped with all of the prep and Jason smoked the Lamb. We sat down at our table and went through this very reverent meal with each food having special meaning to the Isrealites and for us as Christians.
What a wonderful way to express our Love for Christ!

No time/Buck off / past my bedtime
Rodeo Life

Stuck in the muck

I guess this picture kinda sums up this weekend. It was really a dreary week that ended in constant rain and muck! Anyone that wants to glamorize the world of rodeo should try to get a horse and a three year old to the arena before the grand entry is over. Whew, what a crazy life.
Josh, Blake and Eric as well as crazy mom ,who had already stomped through the mud a hundred times, were on our way to the arena. We realized we were missing a kid.( Go figure when you have five that you would even still have that 6Th sense. ) None the less we looked back to find Eric stuck in the muck and crying for some rescue!
Eric made it out but my car is a mess !

Clan Banners

In an effort to not outsource our biblical teachings to others my Girlfriend and I decided to home school our children during the week in Bible Lessons. In an effort to make sure our children were grounded in Biblical facts and knowledge we became our own Cowboy Church on Wednesday Night. ( sometimes Thursday)

It has not only be a great learning tool for us , but our children have truly soared in their eagerness to learn and to teach as well. Blake took the first step and He gave us a lesson on the census with the twelve tribes.

(Numbers 1:1-10 ) In this study we realized that they were proud of their clans and made banners to identify themselves. We decided to do that as well and this is what we came up with for our lessons. We had a great time and we even had visitors and they brought their own banner as well !
